An ancient name,
within stone walls,
among timeless hills.
The origins of Corte Baruzzo date back to the 1400s, when it first appeared among the possessions of the Gonzaga family in Volta Mantovana. From the 18th century onwards, it is documented as a working rural estate, set amid cypresses and oaks.
In the 20th century, the property extended over more than 15 hectares, enclosed by walls where capers grow and surrounded by olive trees. The complex—comprising dwelling, stable, barn, porticoes, and a dovecote tower—was built of morainic cobblestones, with wooden roofs and ancient vaults.
Today, Corte Baruzzo is reborn, balancing memory and vision: a place that preserves its rural soul while opening to the future, with elegance and authenticity.
In a precious land, on the morainic hills of Garda, a place to spend unforgettable moments.
Hotel Corte Baruzzo is ready to welcome you with 16 rooms, spacious common areas, a year-round pool, and spaces designed for those seeking beauty, balance, and simplicity.
The Restoration
The restoration of Corte Baruzzo was born from a desire to preserve the soul of this rural estate — to give it new life without ever betraying its memory. Stone, lime, and reclaimed bricks and tiles tell a story of continuity with the past, while wood once again supports floors and roofs, just as it did centuries ago.
Some recent, disharmonious additions were removed, allowing the property’s authentic beauty to re-emerge. At the same time, energy efficiency and sustainability have become part of its rebirth: advanced heating and cooling systems, solar panels, and a photovoltaic plant ensure respect for the environment and a conscious use of resources.
The court’s spaces have been reimagined as places of encounter and contemplation. The farmyard, gravel paths, meadows, and rows of cypresses accompany the entrance, preserving the delicate balance between nature and architecture.
The ancient dwelling has been transformed into welcoming rooms with luminous lofts. The former stable and barn now open into restaurant halls, a reception, and convivial spaces. The rural tower, once a dovecote, has become an intimate retreat with panoramic views. Finally, the new wellness area — with its indoor–outdoor pool — completes the experience, offering guests a sanctuary of peace and regeneration.
Today, Corte Baruzzo is a place where past and present intertwine, where rural tradition meets contemporary comfort, in a timeless tale of stone, wood, and light.
In the enchanting land of Garda’s morainic hills, Hotel Corte Baruzzo awaits as a haven for unforgettable experiences.
